Workshop Pilot
We did a test run of our idea of a parent & son/daughter guitar building workshop (a service that could be auctioned by a charity or given to a "Wish Kid" by the Make-A-Wish Foundation) with our good friends the Richards family. In addition to serving as a pilot for the workshop idea, we wanted to build a guitar in memory of their daughter Jenna who inspired the launch of Doner Designs (see the About Us tab for more on this).
The workshop idea is still an untried concept apart from the pilot but if a Wish Kid wanted one of our guitars we would likely do our best to accommodate and involve them in the process as much as possible.
BEFORE the Workshop
Before the workshop we sat at a computer together and picked out all of the parts which arrived over time.
After the parts arrived, we did some testing to make sure everything would fit together and modified as needed to allow for a the workshop to be completed in a single day.
DURING the Workshop
On the day of the workshop, we guided the process allowing the family to do as much of the assembly as possible.
AFTER the Workshop
Test driving after assembly and setup...
